Does the current fiber cement have asbestos?

No, since 2002 it has been forbidden to manufacture and market fibrocement with asbestos.

Fibrocement with asbestos, if it is in good conditions of conservation and the risk of detachment of fibers is unlikely, that is to say, it is in good condition, does not carry in itself a risk to health.

We remind you that the removal of this material should not be done in a private way, but that you will have to hire the services of a specialized company.

If my cover is not installed with the Verea System, am I not guaranteed?

Yes, if your roof is installed in accordance with the Technical Building Code and the UNE 136.020 standard, the Verea roof tile comes with a 30-year guarantee.

Why should I use Verea shingles on my roof?

Verea tiles are the strongest and most durable roofing material. Verea tile roofs show the best results in all types of weather conditions, as they are capable of withstanding winds of more than 180km/h, torrential rains of 360 l/m2 and prolonged frosts.

In addition, the tile is the most sustainable material. It is a natural product and improves the efficiency of buildings, reducing energy consumption used in air conditioning.

What advantages can a roof with a tile installation system offer me?

A roof with a suitable tile installation system and installed by a qualified professional team increases the durability of the tiles and reduces moisture and condensation. In addition, due to its simple assembly, it also reduces installation and maintenance costs.

Savings are just as important during assembly as they are during the service life of the tile. A roof installed with the Verea System is guaranteed for 50 years.

Can tiles be laid on any surface and at any inclination?

Roof tiles can be installed on flat roofs as well as on steep and steep sloping roofs.

In the case of inclined roofs, they bring additional benefits to buildings, such as greater energy efficiency and, above all, a lower number of incidents and pathologies that flat roofs can present. 70% of flat roofs always present some pathology, and in a climate like the one we have in Galicia, much more.

Is it possible to place tiles near the sea?

Yes, in fact the properties of Verea tiles make them the product with the highest resistance to the effects of salinity produced by sea breeze salts in coastal areas. The internal structure of the tiles allows the crystallization of the salts without altering their properties, thus avoiding problems of oxidation and degradation of the material that do appear in other metallic materials.

In addition, all the metal accessories included in the Verea System have a special anti-corrosion treatment, which makes them resistant to these environments with high salinity.

Roof tile or sheet metal?

Sheet metal roofs are not prepared to withstand adverse weather conditions such as strong winds or high salinity in coastal areas, conditions that ceramic tiles can withstand.

In addition, metal roofs need more maintenance to prevent dampness and ensure thermal insulation of buildings, which makes them more expensive in the long term.

The useful life of Verea tiles is much longer than that of sheet metal, and is better able to withstand the strong gusts of wind that can result in the sheet metal of the roofs flying away.

In the case of snow storms, the tiles have greater resistance and capacity to support weight, avoiding crashes due to overload of accumulated snow.

Why is it not advisable to place fibrocement without tile?

The tile serves as a protective element of the fibrocement, increasing its durability. The tile removes water from the roof and prevents water seepage into the house, which has double protection: tile and fibrocement.

If we only place fibrocement, the protection of the roof and the thermal efficiency of the building decreases, since the ventilation between tile and fibrocement is eliminated, which will increase the consumption of heating in winter and air conditioning in summer.

Can a roof be waterproofed after installation?

No. The Verea warranty does not cover subsequent treatment by third parties.

The treatment of the tiles with a hydrofugant product modifies the porous structure of the tile, reducing its resistance to frost. Verea has carried out R&D work in search of the water-repellent product that best suits the conditions of the Verea roof tile.

The corresponding frost resistance tests have been carried out until a product is found that offers the same guarantees as the tile without hydrofugation. You will see your product completely waterproof, immersing all the tiles in a water-repellent bath; and not only the exterior face of the tile water-repellent, as happens in the case of the water-repellency of the roof after installation.
