The AENOR N-Sustainable Certification guarantees that an industrial product is sustainable in all is dimensions: performance, economic, environmental and social.

Tejas Verea recieved yesterday at the headquarters of AENOR in Madrid, the AENOR N-Sustainable Certification, which endorses the environmental, social and governance commitment of the company. Verea has thus become the first Spanish root tile manufacturer to receive this seal of guarantee and one of the first two companies in the structural ceramics sector to obtain it.

To achive this certification, Tejas Verea products have been subjected to a complete examination with the aim of guaranteeing the performance characteristics of the construction materials. The AENOR N-Sustainable Certification endorses that a product is sustainable in all its dimensions: performance, economic, environmental and social.

This certificartion contributes to sustainable construction as it is established as one of the requirements to achieve the Sustainable Building Certification. It is a sea that combines the integral ESG sustainability of the agents involved (designer, material and construction company) and the evaluation of the European Level(s) criteria in the building.

Noelia Moscoso, head of Quality and Environment at Tejas Verea, received the accreditation fron the company’s product certification manager, Yolanda Villaseñor. She was accompanied by Elena Santiago, general secretary of Hispalyt, who collected the certificate of behalf of the company Cerámica Utzuar, in a joint delivery of seals for the two companies.

Moscoso highlighted Tejas Verea’s commitment “to sustainability and innovation in the development of production processes and new materials that contribute to energy efficiency and environmental conservation”.

Sustainability, in Verea’s DNA

Quality and respect for the environment are elements integrated into the basis of the Galician Company’s business strategy. Verea designs and carries out its industrial processes with the least environmental impact, minimizing energy and raw material consumption, recycling waste from each stage of manufacturing and developing objectives and actions for the continuous improvement of its environmental performance.

Its environmental activity and commitment is endorsed by the CE, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EMAS and Galicia calidade quality seals. Since 2017, it has been awarded the “Calculo y Reduzco” seal by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, which certifies its commitment to the environment and the reducton of greenhouse gas emissions.

Manufacturer of roof tiles and integral solutions for roofing located in Mesía (A Coruña) in an industrial complex of almost 300,000 square metres, distributed among 3 production lines with a capacity to manufacture 50 million tiles per year. Founded in 1967, it emplys 70 workers.
