Open Day in Verea - Imagen destacada

The Verea factory in Lanzá (Mesía) opens its doors next Saturday, September 14 for anyone who wants to know the process of fully automated manufacturing of a ceramic roof tile as well as the improvements that the company has introduced in the milling process of the clay to continue increasing product quality. During the visit, you can also discover live the craft os a tradicional craftsman ‘Cabaqueiro’, who formerly manufactured roof tiles.

The residents of Mesía and neighboring municipalices are invited to learn about the reference tile factory in Galicia, which currently produces ceramic roof tiles with more durability in the Spanish market.

Visits to Verea will take place every 30 minutes in the morning (from 11 am to 1pm) or in the afternoon (from 4 pm to 6.30 pm).

Access is free and limited capacity, so it is necessary to reserve a place by sending an email to comunicacion@tejasverea.com or calling 981 687 053, indicating the number of people and visiting hours preference.

An intelligent factory that reduces its CO2 emissions

Since 2012, at Verea the total CO2 emissions per ton produced from tiles are measured with the Carbon Footprint Calculator of the Ministry of Agriculture and Frisheries, Food and Environment through which the have managed to reduce 6,65% of its CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. In 2015, Verea became the first tile manufacturer to enroll in the Ministry’s Carbon Footprint, Compensation and CO2 Absorption Protects Registry.

For more than 15 years,, Verea has had an emission reduction plan and has managed to reduce CO2 emissions from electricity to zero. The production lines only consume electricity from renewable sources and more than 150.000 euros have been invested to reduce direct emissions produced in furnaces and dryers, increasing energy reuse and insulation.

A company with more than 50 years of experience

Verea is located in Mesía (A Coruña), in an industrial complex of almost 300.000 square meters, distributed among 3 production lines with the capacity to manufacture 50 million tiles per year, a grinding plant prepared to process more than 200.000 tons per year and two storage yards. The company invoices 10 million euros and employs 50 workers.
