The Galician company Verea, manufacturer of roof tiles and efficient solutions with ceramic roof tile, went one more year to the International Roofing Expo, held in Dallas (Texas), with the aim of expanding the US market and start selling their products in Kansas, Nebrasca and the two Dakotas.
The Galician manufacturer already sells in the states of Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia and South Carolina, where it has achieved a good implementation for its quality and the ability to overcome the high technical requirements due to the weather and the presence of hurricanes. Proof of this is one of the last works done, the AdventHealth Celebration hospital in Orlando, Florida. It is a reference hospital in the United States, recognized as one of the best in the country and number 1 in the ranking of Florida hospitals. It has more than 29,300 square meters of surface and 220 beds.
In 2019, Verea exports accounted for 30% of its production, a smaller percentage compared to 2018, when exports increased significantly due to the devastation caused by hurricane Irma.
As for the national market, the manufacturer of Mesía consolidates its position where it sells 70% of its production. The highest sales volume was registered in Galicia and Asturias.
In 2019, the turnover of Verea amounted to 9.5 million euros and employment to 55 workers.
In 2020, the Investment Plan concludes
In this fiscal year, Verea will finish the improvements in the factory provided for in the Investment Plan for 3 million euros.
Currently, it implements improvements in the production lines and assembles a new line for the manufacture of new roof tile models.
In 2019, the company incorporated a new clay mill with a very fine grain size to reduce water absorption, increase the strength of the tiles and optimize its finish, which meant an investment of 600,000 euros.
These investments are added to those made by the company to minimize the environmental impact of its activity. Since 2012, Verea has carried out various investments to improve the quality of the facilities and reduce their environmental impact.
